Hi friends -
I am so moved by the response to this song when I shared it on Instagram, so here it is, with gratitude to everybody who encouraged me to share this.
It’s recorded at home - - not mastered in any way, and I am playing the crappiest of electric keyboards. But it exists.
You can listen to the song for free on my Soundcloud page… and if you want to own the tune, the $1 download charge helps support this animal rescue & vegan collective liberation-focused, grassroots, woman-founded org.
I am so appreciative and grateful for the kind support of both my music and the rescue and advocacy work we do at IFAH! Thank you.
A bit of back-story:
The song was written and recorded in my apartment on Stanton Street somewhere between 2000-2005. I am not entirely sure. It was inspired by a lot of things… the Movie “Oh God” with George Burns and John Denver… a photo of wild buffalo I saw in Smithsonian Magazine… and the idea that we are souls that manage to find each other in this swirling ether; we are dust particles in the light circling and dancing with one another beyond any single reality.
I never got to properly record this and don’t know if I will ever have that chance. But in the meantime the positive reception on my Instagram page helped me get over any insecurities I have about sharing something so unpolished in these super-polished times. Sharing the song is also a bit easier knowing it’s for the greater good (meaning supporting helping farmed birds here and all farmed animals, and all underdogs human and nonhuman that we advocate for via our efforts at IFAH. ) Just emphasizing: this is a home demo! It’s fairly Lo-Fi… think: hand-made, heart-felt, very little razzmatazz.
Thank you so much for your support.
